IMPORTANT! Please Read before Posting Sightings

Feel free to post here and share sightings of birds that you saw on your route.

There are strict rules regarding Swainson's Hawk sightings (see below). We want to take careful precautions to ensure that these severly endangered birds don't become more endangered due to our presence.

1. If anyone asks you to tell them the location of a nest or sighting, please tell them that you are not allowed to share that information. If they are persistant, please tell them that they must contact Bob and Anita Morgan for any additional information.

2. Swainson's Hawk sightings should be communicated to the Morgans (and approved) before posting. Sightings of Swainson's Hawk nests should ONLY be reported to the Committee.

3. If birds are seen in an area where they won't be disturbed and can be easily viewed (like the Huntley Outlet Mall), the Committee will post the details here.

4. If a Swainson's Hawk nest is located:
-- A. Report it to the Committee immediately.

-- B. Nest locations MAY NOT be shared with ANYONE else, not even other monitors.

-- C. The Committee will decide wether or not to share information with monitors on adjacent routes.

-- D. Do not approach a nest for any reason.
----- These birds are very sensative and are likely to abandon the nest if disturbed.
